Lindlee grew up on the plains of northeast Montana and now lives in Bozeman, Montana, with her husband, daughter, and dog. You can usually find her hanging out with her toddler or doing some early morning or naptime sewing with a big mug of coffee when the house is quiet. She loves to get outside when she's not in her sewing corner - the garden and a hike in the mountains are two of her happy places. You can find her work at Plains and Pine.

Ben Millett

Quilting became Ben Millett's creative outlet outside his work at an agriculture company in Des Moines, Iowa. He enjoyed designing and piecing quilt tops but would be frustrated that his quilting lines were wobbly. Around the same time, he realized that he was not as straight as he'd been convinced to be. "Not So Straight" became a tongue-in-cheek rallying cry (and, later, his brand name) as Ben quilted, reminding both himself and others of who he is. He takes a modern approach with his quilted projects, preferring to work with solids in saturated colors (unless he has green prints on hand). Those projects are meant for everyday use and for display, and sometimes both at the same time. He is grateful his husband and son let him retreat to the craft room for hours on end to bring his projects to fruition.

Amanda CaryeA New Englander who now calls New York home, Amanda has been quilting since middle school and sewing since forever. A serial entrepreneur with an MBA, she spent most of her career in the arts world before starting her first company (which had absolutely nothing to do with quilts!). In 2017, she started her second company, Broadcloth Studio, a collection of bold and modern quilt patterns that are designed to be enjoyable to make. With Broadcloth Studio, Amanda aims to celebrate the craft, the community, and the heritage of quilting every day (with a fresh take and an irreverent wink). She is also a founder and co-host of the Quilt Buzz Podcast. She loves talking about quilting, designing, hand stitching, business strategy, and spreadsheets (data analysis, anyone?!?). Get Amanda’s Pattern >

Brittany Lloyd

Brittany started Lo & Behold Stitchery in 2017 as a way to connect with her late grandmother, Lois (Granny). Granny instilled a love of creating in Brittany from an early age. Brittany vividly remembers spending summers at her grandparents’ house crafting at the kitchen table. They would create Christmas ornaments, watercolor paintings, pottery, and more. While Brittany never had the chance to learn to sew or quilt with her grandmother, Granny created many quilts on her own, which were later passed down to Brittany, and after Granny passed away in 2013, Brittany inherited her vintage sewing machine and quilting supplies. It was then that Brittany decided to learn to quilt in Granny's memory. Using various pieces of her grandmother's clothing, Brittany created her first quilt ... a memory quilt. The rest is history.

Mary Davis

Mary Davis is the creative force behind Mary Go Round Quilts. Her crafty nature goes back to her childhood when she received some sort of craft kit every year for Christmas. When her mom started quilting, it was something she had to learn herself. She bought a book called Teach Yourself to Quilt, made her very first sampler quilt in 1995, and has been quilting ever since.

To further her knowledge of all things quilting, she took a course on how to write and sell quilt patterns. Her first pattern, Launch Party, released in January 2021. She is very excited to start this new venture and share it with you.

Julie Burton

Julie is a 30-something, work-from-home mom of one kiddo and two dogs. She’s an athletic trainer by day and a quilter by night, so with little free time to dedicate to sewing, she likes to make the most of the time she has! She made her first quilt — an American flag — in 2014, and it wasn’t long before she was designing her own quilts. Originally from Texas, she’s spent the last several years moving around the country with her Army husband.

Satomi Hoar

Satomi is from rural northern Japan and now lives in northwest Connecticut with her husband and two children. She began quilting nearly 10 years ago when her mother-in-law, an experienced quilter originally from Lancaster County, PA, offered to teach her. The first quilt she made with assistance changed her life! She’s been making quilts and handmade items for her family and local charitable causes ever since. Aside from her family, designing quilt patterns and making quilts is her greatest joy. For inspiration, she looks to nature, the many places she’s visited and lived, and the experience of meeting so many amazing people through quilting.

Rachelle Craig

Rachelle is a former construction engineer turned designer pursuing her long-time dream of designing quilt patterns. One summer, as a bored teenager, she taught herself how to quilt using library books, and she hasn't looked back since. She enjoys the entire process of quilt making, from the spark of inspiration to watching a written design turn into a tangible quilt. Her quilts often include geometric designs using solid fabrics in bright colors on dark backgrounds. While staying at home during the pandemic, she turned to the online quilting community for support and inspiration and is so very appreciative of the friends she's made along the way. Rachelle lives in rural Wisconsin with her husband, studio cat, and a herd of cows.
